Job Type: Full-time Pay: $21.00 per hour with scheduled salary increases at anniversary of hire date. Schedule: 9:45am-6:15pm. Position requires varied shifts, includes most weekends and holidays, and occasional inclement weather hours. Shares behavior and medical information about specific pets in order to match them with adopters. Interacts with potential adopters in a conversational way while processing adoptions and providing pet care education. Provides excellent customer service through phone, email, and in person during all interactions with the public, including conversations about pet adoption, pet retention and rehoming, and scheduling adoption processes and pet meetings. Processes adoption paperwork in a timely manner while maintaining accuracy. Interacts with and is comfortable handling a variety of pets. Assists with disease control and cleaning of areas throughout the day as needed. Works closely with the animal care team to help ensure timely pet meetings. Ensures daily tasks are completed accurately. Essential Functions: Interacts with the public via phone, email, and in person Helps support a positive work environment for staff and volunteers Completes daily tasks, reports, and checklists as required Helps ensure that adopters are placed with a pet who is a good match for their needs and lifestyle Assists with cleaning of designated work areas Interacts with and comfortable with handling a variety of pets Helps ensure the safety of all employees, visitors and volunteers Treats all pets & people humanely and promotes an environment of kindness Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
