PSYCHIATRIC TECHNICIAN
SITE OF SERVICE:
- Naval Health Clinic, Cherry Point, and associated branch
medical clinics POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree: Certificate.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Psychiatric Technician
Program; or completion of an equivalent education and experience
that meets the requirement of the American Association of
Psychiatric Technicians or completion of education and experience
as a behavioral science specialist/technician in the United States
military and proof of having completed an Armed Forces course
involving psychiatric technician training or civilian course from
an accredited school in the care of behavioral health
patients.
- Experience: One year of full time experience as a Psychiatric
Technician or Mental Health Technician within the last 2
years.
- Licensure: Possess one of the following: Current certification
as a Psychiatric Technician by the American Association of
Psychiatric Technicians OR Evidence of completion of Military
Psychiatric Technician Training OR possess a Bachelor's Degree or
higher in Psychology or Social Work.
- Other Certifications: BLS certificate through the American
Heart Association
- U.S. Citizenship: Healthcare Workers (HCWs) performing under
this contract shall be U.S. citizens.
- English Language Requirement: The Contractor shall ensure that
all Health Care Workers (HCWs) providing services under this
contract are able to read, write, and speak English well enough to
effectively communicate.
- HCW Physical Capability: HCWs shall be physically capable of
standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically
capable of performing all services required under the contract and
TO.
- Complete and Pass competency based evaluations in accordance
with Joint Commission standards.
- Upon employment complete facility and Department of Defense
specific training HOURS:
- Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the
hours of 0700 and 1800 for an 8.5 hour shift which includes an
uncompensated .5 meal break.
- In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in
excess of 80 hours per two-week period.
- Specific days, hours, and shift length will be scheduled by the
designated government representative. The specific schedule for
each two-week period will be provided 1 month in advance by the
government supervisor or designee.
- Any planned absences of the HCW shall be communicated to the
government supervisor in advance.
- The Government reserves the right to change shift hours with 72
hours' notice to accommodate patient care needs and mission
requirements.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be
able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on
multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with
various personalities. Teamwork skills required. Time management
skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline
intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and
willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding
environment.
