Job Summary: The Patient Liaison serves as a vital link between the patient, his family, and the physician and/or the Emergency Department staff. He/she will promote positive public relations within the Emergency Department by offering direction and information to the public and displaying an empathetic, caring attitude when interacting with our customers.Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education in public relation beneficial. One year of previous or related work experience. Previous receptionist experience preferred, or experience in dealing with the public. Experience in a healthcare position beneficial. Possesses the ability to effectively communicate with anxious patients and families in stressful situations. Demonstrates discretion and diplomacy when interacting with hospital employees, medical staff, and the public. Must successfully complete a CPR class and maintain CPR certification. Possesses the ability to identify potential patient/visitor concerns in the waiting area and notifies the appropriate resource (Nursing/ Security). Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the nursing unit(s). - - - - - -
