Job Description:

The Research Coordinator II oversees and administers research study and associated activities. Assists in project planning, and ensures that pre-established work scope, study protocol and regulatory requirements are followed. May recruit and coordinate research subjects, as appropriate, and serves as principle administration liaison for the project. Oversees and coordinates the provision of administrative and staff services to investigators; develops and maintains record keeping systems and procedures
Exempt Principle duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 2-4 years experience in clinical research preferred
  • 2-4 years non-profit, research, or healthcare experience desired
  • Certification as a Coordinator required
  • Demonstrate competence in oral and written communication
  • Must be organized, attentive to detail, and posses a positive, friendly and professional demeanor
  • Must be flexible with changing priorities and able to communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner
  • Computer skills including at least intermediate level experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office Software
  • Knowledge of CFR, GCP and ICH guidelines

Management Responsibilities None
Responsibilities

  • Promote safety and confidentiality of research participants at all times
  • Adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Good Clinical Practices (GCP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and infection control procedures
  • Plan and coordinate the initiation of research study protocol, and the implementation of operating policies and procedures
  • Plan, implement and maintain data collection and analysis systems in support of research protocol; may coordinate the collection and analysis of research data
  • Recruit, instruct and coordinate research subjects and/or volunteers, as appropriate to specific study objectives and work scope
  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of technical support staff specifically engaged in the carrying out of research/clinical protocol, as appropriate to the position; may perform aspects of research protocol, as required, in accordance with specified program objectives
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, conferences, and other events associated with research activities; may perform and/or coordinate outreach activities, as appropriate to research objectives
  • Document all correspondence and communication pertinent to the research Interact and communicate effectively with Principal Investigator, other site personnel, research participants, and the funding organization
  • Comply with all the rules and regulations as applicable to assigned duty station
  • Create and adhere to a data quality and quality assurance plan
  • Assist with interim and annual reports. S/he will be the primary liaison at the data collection site and will be responsible for explaining the project to military personnel associated with the study
  • Demonstrate proficiency in performing basic study related procedures
  • Complete required and applicable research training needed to complete research
  • Maintain and update files of all applicable regulatory documentation for IACUC or IRB (including protocols, approvals, amendments, modifications, etc.) as well as any communications with the sponsor or any other Federal or regulatory office (including prior approvals, change in scope, etc.

Work Qualifications, Working Conditions, and Travel

  • Physically able to move freely or be stationary for prolonged periods of time
  • Must possess a valid state drivers license and access to reliable transportation
  • Must be willing to travel for business as required
  • May be required to work in confined spaces and may need to share office space with others


Job Requirements:
  • Performing the duties of a research coordinator
  • Support alliance office and research division through data aggregation, reporting on study disease aim /classifications, oncology and inflammation target research, compound library outsourcing, biomarker research
  • Understand the relevant scientific and technical principles required for collaborative research proposals
  • Keep current written notification to clinical staff of protocol status for each research study
  • Identify the research needs and interests of Heritage College faculty and staff and research sponsors and funders having opportunities for external funding, including competitive grant programs, cooperative endeavors
  • Communicate Calvert's ESG research framework within the Eaton Vance organization, to clients, and broader investment community
  • Integrate new insights into the propriety research system

  • Maintain professional conduct and the highest standards of confidentiality when handling extremely confidential information, and demonstrate respect for the rights of others
  • Perform daily inquiries to collaborators, medical teams, and internal project champions to retain interim and final reports that emerge from such research
  • Accelerating and simplify pre-clinical alliance processes, coordinating and managing the external research agenda consistent with corporate objectives, and providing a transparent process in concert
  • Assisting faculty and staff in the development of research grant applications and proposals, including preliminary budgets, interpretation of university and sponsor guidelines to ensure compliance, narrative composition
  • Performing research for specific department interpretive guidance of export control issues
  • Facilitate bringing the EHS safety classes into the department; arrange for the inclusion of laboratory safety class into the undergraduate curriculum
  • Initiate budgetary changes as requested by Finance and Accounting or as dictated by the needs of the project in ORC's electronic research administration system which ultimately populates to Peoplesoft
  • Manage communications between outside patent counsel,inventors, licensees and OTT
  • Perform advanced analysis and assessments of research and non-research related activities and necessary regulatory requirements to maintain institutional compliance in both research and non-research areas
  • Perform all required duties for the completion of the responsibilities associated with the coordination of research programs including preparing budgets and other proposal related documents and assisting faculty members
  • Provide expert-level knowledge (application and interpretation) of federal and state regulations and policies, and institutional policies relevant to human subjects research
  • Reconcile property vesting and inventory
