Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word. High level of professionalism and the ability to multitask and maintain timely loan production. Expert knowledge of Real Estate Loan Department operations, including, but not limited to, member resolution, account documentation, and loan origination systems. Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, with an emphasis on positive member communication. Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration. Duties and Responsibilities Supports management in attaining loan production and exemplary member service goals. Supports training of other credit union staff in cross-training and job sharing efforts. Supports Real Estate Department in all functions handled within the department. Reviews and evaluate information on mortgage loan documents to determine if buyer, property and loan conditions meet credit union, potential investor, and government guidelines. Confirms accuracy of all income, indebtedness, ratios, loan-to-value and any other parameters necessary in determining final decision. Recommends loan to the second level manager or underwriter, if the loan amount is acceptable, but exceeds the authorized lending authority. Works closely with processing, closing, funding and quality assurance to ensure the loan decision-making process and closing proceeds smoothly for the member. Works with members during the loan interview process to determine a loan amount for prospective loan applicants. Approves or rejects loan application, based on credit union policies and procedures. Request additional information from member when required. Clears credit and property conditions placed on loan as required. Reviews title to ensure ALTA matters have been cleared and easements are within general guidelines as established by credit union. Reviews flood certifications and compare to appraisal. Records loan rejections, specifying credit union guidelines and basis for declining application. Assembles documents in loan files, including acceptance or denial, and return files to originating Real Estate Loan Officer. Maintains underwriting activity logs and provide weekly or monthly underwriting reports. Stays informed of changing market guidelines and communicate to managers and staff critical market data. Communicates to management issues that may require additional training or management intervention. Develops and maintains an understanding of Credit Union philosophy, organization, and operational procedures and comply with the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act, AML, OFAC and all other applicable Financial Institution Regulations. Supports internal and external audits as assigned. Performs office and administrative support functions to include, but not limited to, computer input and typing of designated forms. Reviews and processes incoming member communication; including but not limited to, voice mail, U.S. mail, and email. Supports management in attaining Credit Union goals and objectives. Participates in training as assigned. Participates in Department and organization meetings as directed. Provides support in various areas as needed. Other duties as assigned.
