Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Feb 16, 2026 - Length: 13 weeks - Openings: 2 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift role requiring a compact or NC RN license and two years of PCU/Stepdown experience. Details - Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a healthcare facility - Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with three 12-hour shifts per week - Every third weekend is required - No on-call responsibilities - Floating required within the hospital as needed and within scope - Uses Meditech EMR system Requirements - Active NC or compact RN license required - Current BLS and ACLS certifications required - Minimum two years of recent PCU or Stepdown experience required - No first time travelers accepted for this position - Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility - Two professional supervisory references from within the past two years required - Copy of Nursys report and COVID vaccination card required for consideration - Background checks accepted with only minor infractions Additional Information - Will not consider travel pairs for PCU and CCU units - Block scheduling may be discussed during the interview - Return staff must be gone for at least one year and in good standing, and may not be local - Medical or religious exemption for COVID vaccination must be requested within 72 hours of acceptance using the facility form American Traveler Job ID P-665251.
