(KCHC) is seeking a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker with
LCAS certification to join our integrated Behavioral Health team.
This hybrid position offers the opportunity to provide in-person
and virtual behavioral health and substance use disorder services.
As part of a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), you’ll
deliver whole-person care that promotes wellness, recovery, and
resilience for patients across eastern North Carolina. You’ll
conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, facilitate therapy
sessions, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the

Position Summary The Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Licensed
Clinical Addiction Specialist certification (LCSW-LCAS) serves as
an integral member of Kinston Community Health Center’s Behavioral
Health team. This position provides comprehensive, evidence-based
behavioral health and substance use disorder services within an
integrated primary care environment. The clinician is responsible
for conducting diagnostic assessments, developing person-centered
treatment plans, and delivering individual, group, and family
therapy designed to promote recovery, wellness, and resilience. In
collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, the LCSW-LCAS
ensures that all patients receive coordinated, high-quality, and
culturally competent care. This role also includes case management,
care coordination, and consultation with medical and dental
providers to support whole-person care. The clinician must
demonstrate sound clinical judgment, adherence to ethical and legal
standards, and commitment to KCHC’s mission of improving the health
and well-being of individuals and families in the communities we
serve. Qualifications Education : MSW, DSW or PhD in social work
from CSWE accredited school Certifications & Licenses: Active
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential issued by the
North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board and/or
Active Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) credential
issued by the North Carolina Addictions Specialist Professional
Practice Board. CPR/BLS Certification Experience: 1 year of
relevant Licensed Clinical Social Worker experience. History of
working with individuals with mental and/or substance abuse and/or
behavioral health issues that includes writing person-centered
plans, conducting group therapy and providing mental
health/substance abuse diagnoses. Federally Qualified Health Center
(FQHC) experience preferred. Skills: Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HER
systems. Strong organizational and program management skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Assessment &
Treatment Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and new
patient orientations. Develop and implement individualized,
person-centered treatment plans using appropriate therapeutic
modalities. Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions,
including education and skill-building components. Perform
behavioral health evaluations to determine diagnosis, treatment
needs, and psychosocial factors. Monitor patient progress, safety,
and adherence to treatment and medications. Administer and
interpret drug screens and Breathalyzer tests as appropriate.
Provide psychoeducation to patients and families regarding
diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Support primary care providers
with screening, diagnosis, and management of behavioral health and
substance use conditions. Promote preventive mental health care and
wellness practices. Care Coordination & Case Management Manage an
active caseload, ensuring continuity and quality of care.
Coordinate pre- and post-hospital care needs for patients and
families. Connect patients and families with appropriate community
resources such as healthcare, housing, food assistance, employment
programs, and support groups. Engage patients, families, and
caregivers in culturally and linguistically appropriate
self-management and care planning. Apply principles of
comprehensive, community-based, patient-centered, and
developmentally appropriate care coordination. Documentation &
Compliance Document all services and interventions accurately and
in a timely manner in accordance with KCHC policies. Complete
required documentation related to treatment, billing, and
operational needs. Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient
information in compliance with HIPAA. Ensure adherence to OSHA,
HIPAA, and all other applicable regulatory standards. Collaboration
& Communication Participate in clinical supervision and
interdisciplinary case consultations. Provide consultative support
to healthcare team members within scope of practice. Collaborate
effectively with medical, dental, and outreach staff to support
integrated care. Communicate respectfully and professionally with
patients, families, and colleagues to maintain a positive care
environment. Perform all other duties as assigned. Work Environment
Must be able and comfortable working in a variety of settings
including, but not limited to clinical environments and office
spaces. Must be able to work nights and weekends as departmental
