Cardiac Sonographer I At Novant Health, our team members deliver a

I plays a vital role in providing high-quality cardiac imaging
while supporting a culture of safety, compassion, and
collaboration. Position Summary The Cardiac Sonographer I performs
diagnostic echocardiographic examinations, including transthoracic
and transesophageal studies, while working closely with
cardiologists to ensure accurate, high-quality imaging and
patient-centered care. Education Requirements Required: High School
Diploma or GED Preferred: Associate Degree or higher Preferred:
Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Cardiovascular Program Experience
Requirements Preferred: Minimum 1 year of cardiac sonography
experience New graduates are encouraged to apply Licensure &
Certification Required: Registered Cardiac Sonographer ( RDCS or
RCS ) New graduates will have up to 6 months to obtain registry
Required: BLS certification (per Life Support Training Policy) Key
Responsibilities Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound exams,
including TTE and TEE Acquire and evaluate echocardiographic images
and hemodynamic data Use independent judgment to differentiate
normal vs. pathological findings Ensure patient safety, comfort,
and clear communication throughout exams Maintain ultrasound
equipment and report equipment issues as needed Collaborate with
cardiologists and care teams to optimize image quality Document
studies and generate preliminary echocardiography reports Required
Skills Proficiency in echocardiography equipment and imaging
techniques Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, pathology, and
ultrasound principles Ability to work independently and manage
changing workloads Effective communication skills and sensitivity
to patient needs
