Description Specialization: Emergency Medicine Job Summary: TeamHealth and Grand Strand Health are actively seeking an Emergency Medicine physician to join our expanding team in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Responsibilities to include: Deliver high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population Manage and triage patients in the emergency department with efficiency and compassion Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff and residents during night shifts Participate in departmental meetings and continuous quality improvement initiatives About the ED: 65k annual visits Level I trauma center 40-bed ED Up to 10 pediatric beds, can flex up or down with regular ED beds 44 hours of MD coverage (flex up to 56 hours during the summer) 24 hours of APC coverage (flex up to 34 hours during the summer) Meditech EMR Board certified/board eligible ABEM or AOBEM Independent contractor status Located 2 blocks from the beach Cases include marine accidents About Grand Strand Health: Grand Strand Health is a multi facility health system located on the coast of the Grand Strand community and has facilities throughout the Grand Strand to provide quality, convenient healthcare. Grand Strand Medical Center is a 403-bed acute care hospital serving residents of Horry and surrounding counties. Our hospital offers the only cardiac surgery program, neurosurgery program and pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) in Horry and Georgetown counties and is a designated Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center by South Carolina DHEC. Grand Strand is an ACGME accredited residency programs with six residences (Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, and a Transitional Program) and two fellowships (Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Endocrinology) North Strand ER is a 24 hour emergency department located in the North Myrtle Beach area. Carolina Forest ER is a 24-hour emergency department located on Oakheart Road near the Hwy 501 side of Carolina Forest Blvd. South Strand Medical Center features a 24 hour emergency department, imaging, lab, wound care program and behavioral health. The Advanced Wound Center is an outpatient facility for the treatment of chronic non-healing wounds and hyperbaric technology. The Breast Center provides outpatient diagnostic services including X-ray, CT scan and ultrasound. A dedicated women's center provides digital mammography (including 3D), breast education, bone densitometry, ultrasound and x-ray services. Carolina Forest Imaging Center offers outpatient procedures including CT scan, MRI/Breast MRI and digital mammography (screening). Located in Myrtle Beach, in the heart of the "Grand Strand," the 60-mile stretch of coastline is considered one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the US. The area has been repeatedly recognized as one of the top retirement and tourist destinations (more than 20 million visitors a year) in the country.
