Hospital -Pursue your passion for caring with Duke Raleigh Hospital
in Raleigh, North Carolina, which has been part of Duke Health
since 1998 and has served Wake County for more than 35 years. Duke
Raleigh Hospital features 204 inpatient beds and offers a
comprehensive array of services, including cancer, cardiovascular,
neuroscience, advanced gastrointestinal, and wound healing care.
-Medical Surgical Step-Down Unit, Duke Raleigh Hospital - -Night
Shift 7 pm to 7 am - - three shifts per week, rotating holidays and
weekends. -The Medical/Surgical Stepdown Unit at Duke Raleigh
Hospital is a 45-bed unit that serves patients with a wide range of
diagnoses including but not limited to sepsis, pneumonia, diabetes,
sickle cell, and gastrointestinal complications. -The unit also
provides care to patients with mental health disorders and
step-down level of care patients (this includes cardiac drips,
post-cath lab recovery, peritoneal dialysis, and more). -The
nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3-5 (depending on the acuity of the
patients) on days and nights. -The 4th-floor team is active in
delivering exemplary care for every patient, every time!
-Experienced RN (1 + yrs experience required) -General Description
of the Job ClassIndependently plan and provide professional nursing
care for patients in accordance with physician orders and
established policies and procedures. Provide nursing services to
patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as
defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.Duties and
Responsibilities of this LevelPlan, provide, supervise and document
professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process for
patients in accordance with physician orders and established
policies and procedures. Use professional nursing judgment to
individualize the plan of care based on an assessment of the
patient's baseline needs and response to care.Delegate tasks and
supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care
providers.Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing
care and act as a team leader or charge nurse for a group of
patients or an entire unit as assigned.Monitor and initiate
corrective action to maintain the environment of care including
equipment and material resources.Participate in own professional
development by maintaining required competencies, identifying
learning needs, and seeking appropriate assistance or educational
offerings.Act as a preceptor and support the development of other
staff and formal learners.Participate in the identification of
clinical or operational performance improvement opportunities and
performance improvement activities.Perform other related duties
incidental to the work described herein. -Required Qualifications
at this Level -Education - - - - - Graduation from an accredited
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in
Nursing or Nursing Diploma program is required.All registered
nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be
required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years
of their start date and to complete the program within five years
of their start date -ExperienceTwelve months of appropriate
clinical experience is required. At a manager's discretion,
employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional
performers may be eligible for this level.Degrees, Licensure,
and/or CertificationMust have current or compact RN licensure in
the state of North Carolina. BLS required.Knowledge, Skills, and
