Job Description:

Big Rock Sports has an immediate need for a Senior Accountant to work at our Morehead City, NC location. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned for management. They will work with all members of the accounting department to conduct period-end closing, work on the annual financial audit. This person must be an integral part of the accounting team.Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for preparing financial analyses and reports.Responsible for month-end and year-end close processes, and annual review preparations.Maintains and reconciles balance sheet and general ledger accounts.Preparation of journal entriesEnsures all processing and reporting deadlines are met.Ensures compliance with GAAP.Contributes to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.Assists in special projects.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an accountant preferred.Master's Degree is a plus.Licensed CPA or CPA candidate is a plus.Professional experience working with confidential and sensitive information.COMPETENCIES:Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Proficient with Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills.Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and meet timely obligations.Ability to work with little supervision
